Updated: January 1, 2008February 3, 2005 I've been playing World of Warcraft lately. So far I have a level 16 Undead Warlock and a level 11 Undead Mage. I also have a paladin and a warrior but I don't find them very interesting to play and will probably not play them very much more if any. The Mage character is a straight out damage dealer. I'm thinking I will spec in fire mostly, with a little cold and arcane. I love the frost shield. When I run from a fight it helps slow the mobs down if they hit me. I always get away because of it. The Warlock character is very complex to play. Having a pet is always fun for me in RPGs. I'm specializing in affliction, which is the DOT line. Basically you start the fight by sending your pet in. Then add the DOTs and wait until the fight is over. I can already take down two mobs my own level with no problems. Pet-based characters always seem to level pretty fast. I've played Everquest, Everquest2, and Dark Age of Camelot. World of Warcraft blows them all away. Everquest2 is clearly about making Sony money, and has little 'fun' value. DAoC is not very well written, takes forever to level, and is just boring. WoW is fun in groups or soloing. Experience comes at a decent rate no matter what you're doing. Quests are just complex enough to be interesting, not too short, not to long. I'll probably be playing WoW for some time to come. I think I might try the Shaman character soon.
